Why Advertise Something Not For Sale

Yesterday was a strange experience with Evans Halshaw. I saw a vehicle online, phoned the number on the advert and spoke to someone about the van. It was confirmed that the van was available and a holding deposit taking. Later in the evening I was left a message by the sales manager to say the van was not for sale.

The following morning I spoke to the sales manager who confirmed that the van was not for sale as it was being used by the Bodyshop, this seemed strange as I had an independent check done on the vehicle which showed it was not taxed. Either way the sales manager was very apologetic and insisted that it was an admin error that caused the van to be advertised but I can’t help feeling that it was just a hook to get a sale on another vehicle.
