A fair experience, but I won’t be rushing back
I bought my first car from Diamond Car Sales after spying a beautifully elegant turquoise Peugoet 307cc, which admittedly made the little boy inside illuminate with excitement.
After a series of unfortunate breakdowns in a relatively short period of time, the salesman and owner happily received and worked to repair the car with their own mechanic, although on my third and final breakdown I felt it necessary to return the car and secure a refund for my peace of mind.
The car was advertised for £1800 and after some initial deliberation we agreed on £2000 if they would complete some work that was advisory on its previous MOT. They only refunded the initial price of the car and, while £200 isn’t a devastating loss, it stung a little bit considering I’ve not had the enjoyment of the car or it’s work. I also lost all of my RAC membership callouts having to tow the car back to the garage and I felt that, after the savings they made on towing fees alone, withholding £200 was unnecessarily frugal.
