Lies and Invalid Guarantee.
I bought a Vauxhall Astra estate from Northampton Car Shop to export to the Irish Republic. i specifically asked the salesman if the three month guarantee was valid in the Irish Republic. He stated that it was and if i got any problems i could phone them and arrange to get it looked at at a local Halfords in Ireland.
I was foolish enough to take his word for it. In all of the process they put you through to get the car, i forgot to get something in writing, but a verbal agreement should still be legally binding, although difficult to prove.
After a long wait, car Shop gave me my car and i successfully got it home to Ireland. Then i realised that i needed something in writing on the guarantee i was promised. I contacted them. They absolutely refused to honour the word of the salesman and would not extend the three month guarantee they promised to the Irish Republic. Either they or the salesman lied, as they said they had a word with him and he'd denied saying the guarantee was valid in Ireland.
