Buyer beware, dealer does not respect legal rights
Buyer beware, this dealer does not respect your legal rights.
I purchased a decent looking Ford S-Max for a fair price last month. It has had two major issues within the first 10 days, these things happen I know, not the dealers fault.
To be fair to the dealer, the first one was "fixed" without quibble.
By the time the second one happened, after 10 days of owning the car, I was spooked and decided to return the car for a refund.
As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a buyer has 30 days to reject a second hand car and get a full refund. I informed the dealer of this and was told that I could only have a refund after deducting £200 for dealers losses.
The dealer admitted that he had read the act, but that he would not offer any more money and I would have to take him to a small claims court to get the money (it would have cost me £185 to take him to such a court and I would have been without car and money for potentially months).
I was forced to accept the offer, under protest, despite everyone
