Poor customer service

I purchased a car from High Peak Cars. I had an issue with it within 2 months- the car lurched and would drag, often on the motorway. This was an intermittent problem. I went back to High Peak Cars where he stated (after asking the current mileage) my warranty was either 3 months or less than 1000 miles- whichever came first- and I had done just over 1000 miles. I stated he had not said that when I bought it- he only stated that it came with a warranty when I asked. I've since learned to ask for everything in writing! He attempted to rectify it in "good faith" by sending me to a mechanic he knew. The mechanic seemed nice enough but I was clearly fobbed off. The problem persisted intermittently. High Peak Cars were unwilling to help me further. I contacted Citizen's Advice, but to take him to court seemed costly, both financially and emotionally. I took the car to be fixed somewhere independently. It cost me over £400 to have the pressure regulator solenoids replaced. Not long after this, I took the car for it
