Completely Untrue !!!
The vehicle was sold with a full 12 months MOT of which all are done independently. On the MOT were 2 minor advisories which we asked the garage to do so that we then knew that the car had absolutely no faults. Once an MOT has been done and even though the advisories listed on the certificate are done they can not be removed from the certificate and this was shown to the customer and the repairs done were also shown to the customer. Furthermore the customer road tested the vehicle, inspected the vehicle and signed to say he was 100% happy with the vehicle before driving away. Once on his way home and by his own admission he went over a speed bump and judging by the photographs we received it must have been at some speed and completely ripped the rear exhaust silencer clean off the car. He then proceeded to telephone us with a torrent of abuse. Despite this and to continue the excellent reputation we have we told him to take it to his local garage on the Monday morning as it was now Saturday afternoon and ask them to contact us once they had inspected the vehicle. The garage duly did this and confirmed that the exhaust had been ripped clean off at the joint, and that fortunately the customer had not damaged the silencer and it was still in good condition and could be welded back on. To keep the customer happy despite his outburst on the Saturday and the situation not being the fault of Maclan Marsh I agreed for the garage to undertake the repair so that the customer could use his vehicle. Since this happened in May the customer has done roughly 3000 miles in his car without issue. Unfortunately during this time we have continued to receive abuse and threats from the customer demanding a new exhaust system at £500 which is completely unacceptable we feel as there is nothing wrong with the system on the car and the issue was caused by the negligence of the customer in the first place, and all we did was show good will. Finally in an attempt to appease the customer I asked the garage who repaired the exhaust to inspect the vehicle again which they did and they confirmed that it is absolutely fine, they did however make comment to there now being recent damage to the front of the exhaust. I will allow any decent minded sensible person to draw there own conclusions from this review. All I can say to the customer who left the review is that if you continue to drive in the manner you do and treat people the way you do then you are not going to get very far.
